Nobody knows the exact truth behind this ominous dagger. A dark aura seems to emanate from it, which gives a hint of the cruelty and greed behind its origin.

Some claim that an enslaved miner found one of the largest and purest rough diamonds in human history in a diamond mine in South America, so valuable it could have been used to build an entire city.
The miner's quick fortune also meant his misfortune, it is said. His discovery was quickly known for miles and followed by the greed of other miners, which led to a failed smuggling and a bloody massacre.
In a fight for the precious diamonds the finder of the stone is said to have cut the throats of the other miners with a sharpened piece of ore. Soiled and contaminated by the blood of those people, the color of the diamonds turned deep red and led to the origin of the dagger's Native American name "Kanatisa", which means "red hunter".
Even to these days it is said that a death curse weighs on Kanatisa Diamonds. Whoever touches them may have to pay with their soul and succumb to an immeasurable thirst for blood.

Others claim that a wealthy and utterly beautiful but fearsome noblewoman became aware of the stones and bought the most valuable diamond from the miner with an unimaginable amount of gold. However, the miner was so obsessed with the gem that he tried to sneak into the nobles' apartments and steal the diamond.
The miner was caught by the noblewoman who cut off his ring finger as a punishment and put a blood curse on him, only to banish him to the heart of the diamond mine in an endless search for greed and bloodlust.
According to this story, the Kanatisa was formed with the torn soul and drained blood of the miner, which crystallized an fused into the shape of a gem.

That tragedy happened almost 37 years ago and because of the lingering fear in people's minds, the mine has been barricaded ever since.
Even today it is believed that the cursed miner is still wandering through the diamond cave as a soulless and empty shell, driven by the rapture of blood and the urge to find another gem of the same quality, killing everyone who gets in his way.
